Resolve PNGDF scandal
Among points raised by members of the Opposition earlier today, leader James Nomane called for the Prime Minister James Marape to appoint a competent Defense Minister and dismiss Dr Billy Joseph.
Nomane says the PNG Defense Force Commander and his deputies must also be sidelined including Department Secretary John Akipe.
Other points raised is for an independent inquiry with proper persons appointed to dig deep into the issues within the Force and find concrete solutions.
The Opposition says the PNG Defense Force scandal is just one part of the massive systematic corruption in the Government offices.
The Opposition demanded the Prime Minister to respond in the next 24 hours.
Five members of the small Opposition army held a news conference to address the media and speak of the current PNG Defense Force recruitment scandal.
Opposition leader James Nomane says his office has not received any formal documentation of Dr Billy Joseph's decommissioning.
MP Nomane says the Prime Minister must appoint competent Ministers and a possible candidate is among the NEC.
Wabag MP Dr Lino Tom spoke highly of the level of corruption in the country.
He says those entertaining and practicing corruption must not be protected.
MP Tom says the corrupt in the PNG Defense Force must be eradicated by the Government.
The Opposition also believes those implicated must face the Leadership Tribunal.
They want the Prime Minister and his cabinet to restore public trust in the Force.
East Sepik Governor Allan Bird believes that an independent inquiry must be established.
