Rigo Schools Rugby League [RSLR] is a proud grassroots entity, as two of its schoolboys take a big step forward to represent Central Dabaris in the PNG Rugby League National Youth Competition.

Samuel Rawali and Tailon Taunagita started their career pathway under the Central Dabaris development partway program, over the weekend in East New Britain Province.

This is not just their achievement but a sign of what youths can become when given a chance.

Speaking to NBC News, RSLR Chairman George Enane says, while he celebrates these achievements, he asks how many more talented boys and girls are out there, still waiting for that same opportunity.

Eanane adds, talent is not an issue to the League but opportunity is and urged community leaders, local business houses in the district and the wider community, to not stop with the two school boys but build pathways, support young people and invest in their future.

"My call to all the Central Province leaders and also Rigo district Leaders is, come and support all the youths in Central Province and help them achieve their dreams come true. Basically, these youths were totally being left out ever since. But coming up with this program, it needs to be supported by our central Province leaders; these youths need support," Enane said.

Rawali from Bonanamo and Taunagita from Imaugoro village were scouted and selected through a development pathway under the Dabaris National Youth Competition trials this year at Bava Park in the National Capital District.
