Voro-Luai combo likely for Chiefs in 2028
London Broncos star Gairo Voro and four-time Penrith premiership winner Jerome Luai are bound to become NRL team mates in 2028.
Both Voro and Luai have been described by many followers as look-a- likes, with similar styles of play- and the 2028 NRL season promises to be thrilling for fans with both likely to partner in the halves.
The reality for this Luai-Voro combination comes after the Abau lad put ink on paper to join the Chiefs in their inaugural season on a two-year development contract, becoming one of the three first PNG born players to sign with the side that will be coached by Willie Peters.
Morea Morea and Finley Glare also agreed to the two-year development contract with the official announcement of the trio’s signing done today in Port Moresby after Chiefs General Manager for Football Michael Chammas visited them in London recently.
With Voro set to join the Chiefs in 18 months time, Chammas is recalled the first time he set eyes on the 23-year old.
“I remember in October last year I didn’t know what lied ahead but I remember sitting here (NFS) and watching the game.”
“Gairo got the ball, stepped across the field, danced across a few players and showed us the magic he has. I remember just turning around and asking who’s that kid? he looks like Jerome Luai,”
“Its actually funny because I have been spending a lot of time with Jerome and he has been watching videos of Gairo and he knew about him before this all played out.”
Both Morea and Glare are expected to serve one more year in England under Jason Demetriou’s London Broncos before returning home to join the Chiefs, while Voro’s situation for 2027 before he joins the Chiefs are being sorted out by his manager.
The trio have also been urged to maintain their impressive form with possibilities to have their development contracts upgraded to the top 30.
