Harmony boosts Snax Tigers with K220,000

Harmony Hidden Valley mine company presented K220,000 dummy cheque to Lae Snax Tigers Rugby team yesterday in Lae, Morobe Province.

This is the second time for the company to support the rugby club.

Harmony’s General Manager, Steven Rooney was proud to present the cheque and said that the support is part of their community service program.

He said Harmony is proud to sponsor this well established team, that has a good program as well, linking school rugby to the big league. And we hope to see some good performance out there, and wish the best of luck to the team."

Lae Snax Tiger vice captain, Walter David on behalf of the team, thanked Harmony for their continued generous support. Davud said, " from K100,000.00 last year to K220,000.00 this year, is boost for the team to work hundred and ten times harder in training and in our actual game."

Snax Tigers Franchise Manager Luke Kolalio expressed his gratitude and said the sponsorship is a boost the moral of the team. Kolalio said, " this sponsorship can also put challenge to the team to go extra, to work hard."

The company also donated 60 rugby balls to Lae Secondary School rugby team.

Meantime, Harmony’s community program, prioritize the mine impact areas, Nauti, Kwembu and Winima, parts of Bulolo and Wau but covers some parts of Morobe Province.
