Residents of Kimbe Town will soon have access to improved services with the construction of the new Kimbe Urban Local Level Government office complex now underway.

A ground breaking ceremony to mark the start of construction works was held in Kimbe Town today.

West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel, Member for Talasea, Freddie Kumai and Kimbe Town Mayor, Nick Tupi performed the ground breaking.

Mr Kumai presented K200,000 as counterpart funding from the Talasea District Development Authority Board for the construction of the office complex while Governor Muthuvel committed a K200,000 from the Provincial Government.

The project is expected to cost K500,000 and the K200,000 now ensures that construction commences while the remainder of K300,000 is sourced from the LLG and Provincial Government budgets.

Kimbe Urban LLG is now operating from a rented office space on the outskirts of the town.

The new complex will ensure that all services are centralised and more accessible to residents.
