TSC launches major reform plans and website
The Teaching Service Commission has launched its Corporate Plan, Teaching Service Development Plan, and official website in a major push to modernise education administration and improve services for teachers across Papua New Guinea.
The launch was attended by the acting Minister for Education Kinoka Feo, Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra, TSC Commissioners Maina Ugaia, and education stakeholders.
Speaking during the event, Minister Feo said the reforms demonstrate the Government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s education system and supporting teachers nationwide.
“Today marks an important step in improving Papua New Guinea’s education system. We are launching the TSC Corporate Plan, the Teaching Service Development Plan, and the official TSC website to strengthen services for teachers across the country,” Mr Feo said.
The TSC Corporate Plan outlines the commission’s roadmap for improving governance, accountability, and service delivery. It also aligns with the Government’s Medium-Term Development Plan Four.
The Teaching Service Development Plan focuses on improving teacher training, performance management, workforce development, and maintaining teaching as a respected profession.
Meanwhile, the launch of the official TSC website marks a significant step in digital transformation for the commission.
Minister Feo said the online platform will make services more accessible, especially for teachers serving in rural and remote areas.
“The launch of the TSC website is a major achievement. Teachers, especially those in remote areas, will now have easier access to forms, policies, and important information without travelling long distances,” he said.
TSC officials also said the reforms are aimed at improving efficiency, addressing teacher grievances and payroll issues, and ensuring teachers receive better support.
Mr Feo said the initiatives reflect the Government’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and quality education for all Papua New Guineans.
