Asia media summit calls for digital growth in broadcasting
Media organisations across Asia and the Pacific have been encouraged to move with technology while continuing to maintain traditional broadcasting values.
This message was highlighted during the three-day 21st Asia Media Summit held in the Republic of Maldives.
The summit was held under the theme: “Together, We Shape the Future of Media: From Traditional to Technology.”
Chief Executive Officer of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development, Philomena Gnanpragasam, said shaping the future of media in the digital era is very important.
Ms Gnanpragasam said media professionals must use modern technology tools and create content that can reach both older and younger audiences.
She said public broadcasters have an important role in shaping the future of media as technology continues to grow and change.
More than 300 media professionals from across Asia and the Pacific attended the 21st Asia Media Summit in the Maldives. The National Broadcasting Corporation was represented by NBC Northern journalist, Muriel Tovivi.
