Voice of Revival Radio and Television launched in Port Moresby

A long-awaited dream is now a reality for the Revival Centers of Papua New Guinea with the official launch of its Voice of Revival digital radio and television station in Port Moresby on Tuesday.

The launch coincided with the church’s 44th Anniversary celebrations and was held under the theme “His Voice, Our Voice, Their Voice, the Voice of Revival.”

What is now a modern broadcast center was once the church Principal Pastor’s unused office.

The idea to revive a radio station, first announced in 1997, was brought back to life in 2022.

An initial cost of K500,000 was estimated. After prayer and planning, the church began working with the National Information and Communication Technology Authority, NICTA.

Construction started in 2024 and faced challenges with funding, skills and infrastructure.

But with support from the church, congregations, and technical teams from Australia, the facility was completed. It now operates as both a podcast and broadcast center, able to go live on radio and camera.

The station was officially launched on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 by Founder and Principal Pastor Godfrey Wippon.

NICTA CEO Lume Polume commended the church for using technology to expand the gospel, saying it aligns with government policy.

He urged the church to use the service responsibly and not discriminate against others.

Chief Censor Jim Abani also said content aired on the station must be decent for public consumption.

A radio station certificate was presented during the launch, officially recognizing Voice of Revival as a broadcaster.

Meanwhile, Deputy Managing Director for NBC Michael Samuga pledged NBC’s support towards the newly established Voice of Revival Radio and Digital Television Station.

The platform will now be used to spread the Gospel and the truth, and to reach communities across PNG and beyond.
