Serious consequences for malpractices in exams
Students and schools caught engaging in malpractices during the National Examinations will face serious consequences.
This stern warning was issued by Education Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra in a statement.
Consequences drawn to be applied to those caught in the act include; non-certification for students, termination from teaching for teachers, and banning of schools for a minimum period of three years.
“To uphold integrity, strict supervisory guidelines have been issued to external invigilators across all provinces,” Dr. Kombra said.
Adding to this, the secretary is also encouraging members of the public, parents and students to report any suspected examination malpractice or paper leaks to the Department of Education.
According to the online student data collection system, more than 279,000 students will sit for the 2026 National Examinations with 84, 596 Grade 10s sitting for exams from October 5th to 9th, 37, 430 Grade 12’s from October 12th to 16th and 157,500 Grade 8’s sitting for exams from October 19th to 22nd.
