JICA invests K500, 000 for infrastructure to Ngariawang primary school in Morobe

Japanese International Operation Agency-JICA has invested K500,000.00 for infrastructure, to Level 6, Ngariawang Primary School in Markham District of Morobe Province.

JICAs Grassroots Project Cordinator, Sadayuki Nishikawa paid a visit to the school on Wednesday this week.

Nishikawa applauded the school of their tremendous efforts of working their way to get a new status, and he is grateful that JICA is contributing to the development of the school.

He commended the school and the community and said, “the honors is on you now to make use the fund that has made available by JICA, to build many infrastructures as you can because we will be in partnership to make it work."

A counter funding of K50,000 by the Markham District Development Authority was presented to the school at the occasion by project Coordinator, Joel Gedisa.

Gedisa, challenged the school to take ownership of new infrastructures, so they will last for a longer period of time.

Principal Lawyer of the Luther's Lawyers, Mathew Wenge, was also present at the occasion and urged the students to appreciate such initiatives and take education seriously.

“You are privileged to have such supports coming to your school, and despite your location, you must read alot of books.

"And who knows, you can be a lawyer too like me, one day." Wenge encouraged.

Wenge proposed a debate competition to enhance the students’ knowledge and for them to be able to be prepared mentally.

The school gave a warm welcome to the guest, at the reception and ended with presentation of gifts to the guests of the day.

Ngariawang Primary School is in ward 20 of Leron Wantoat, that benefits almost 700 students from 6 villages, along the Leron River, Abaya, Yuweng, Wangat, Sayang Gagari and Bris Community.
