PPC Rubiang leads Kundiawa police in town beautification
Kundiawa town got a full scrub-down on Saturday, 29th August as Provincial Police Commander Superintendent, Mazuc Maipe Rubiang swapped the patrol car for a rubbish bag and hit the streets with his officers.
The Kundiawa police officers rolled out a large-scale cleanup across the town, collecting waste and clearing rubbish hotspots. Police trucks were on standby to haul the rubbish to proper disposal sites.
PPC Rubiang said this wasn’t just about picking up trash, the exercise was about changing mindset.
Officers spent time talking with market vendors, shop owners and residents, pushing a simple message: keep your space clean, and Kundiawa stays safe.
“Law and order aren’t only about arrests.
“A clean town is a healthy town. And keeping Kundiawa clean is everyone’s job, not just police or council.” Supt Rubiang said
He said the cleanup is part of a wider push by police to work closer with the community and local authorities.
"We hope today’s effort sets the tone for ongoing cooperation with residents and businesses taking ownership to maintain what was cleaned", he said.
Supt Rubiang said the tidier, healthier Kundiawa will attracts businesses and gives residents pride in their town.
