Madang Jack’s branch relocates shop

Jack's of PNG has moved its Madang shop to a new location as of Saturday last week.

The shop was relocated to the town's Central Business District within the old National Development Bank building, along Kasagten Road.

A small opening ceremony, which included a short Hindu ritual, was performed by the company's Business Development Manager, Yogesh Samy.

Samy said the ritual is a display of their Hindu belief about prosperity.

"That's our Hindu belief. So whenever we open a new shop, we do a Indian ritual. That's basically our Indian way before we start business. We have requested a priest to come but unfortunately he's caught up with other things and didn't come so I had to do this.

"The new shop is smaller than the previous but is a bonus for us. It's easier now for customers as the shop is located right in the heart of town and they can walk in any time. Before it was outside and only few people went," he said.

Samy added that the shop will soon be stocking up on new range of items for Christmas.

He assured customers that they would not be left disappointed when it comes to quality and design.

"Our products are all quality and are original PNG designs. We also cater for all age groups," he added.

Jack's of PNG currently has four shops in Port Moresby, and one each in Madang, Kokopo, Lae, and Mt. Hagen.

A second shop is expected to open soon in the Westen Highlands capital.

According to Samy, the company's future plans include extending to Alotau, Buka, and Goroka.

Basil Doro, Retail Manager in Madang, said the new location is more convenient for customers.

One of the first customers at the new shop was Robin Wike and his family soon after the entrance opened. Wike is a staff at Divine Word University and said he frequently visits Jack's because of quality and genuine prices.
