PNG joins Pacific Leaders at Hawaii Investment Summit
The Pacific Agenda summit is underway in Honolulu, Hawaii, bringing together Leaders from across the region and the United States to strengthen cooperation on investment, security, and shared prosperity.
Hosted by the United States, the two-day summit aims to advance economic development opportunities while promoting a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Pacific region.
Representing PNG, is Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkachenko and other government officials.
Minister Rosso says PNG’s participation is important to attract investments and promote economic growth, stressing PNG is open for business in key sectors like oil and gas, fisheries, agriculture, energy, tourism and infrastructure.
Key discussions include reducing barriers to investment, accelerating project readiness, and connecting capital with opportunities across the Pacific.
The agenda also covers infrastructure, security, digital connectivity and broader economic diversification among others.
Several major announcements are expected to be made before the summit concludes on the 24th (Hawaii local time)
