Landowners of Boram Airport, led by representatives from Makun Village, have called for the immediate removal of illegal settlers encroaching on their land.

Ward member Willie Paulus, speaking on behalf of the landowners, said the community has endured longstanding issues with settlers who have disrupted services and created instability in the area.

He said the incident at Boram Airport lastnight was not related to the landowners but broader challenges caused by illegal occupation.

“We have been facing problems with settlers for far too long. They are causing chaos and preventing services from reaching our people,” Paulus said.

He assured the National Government and stakeholders that the landowners are committed to working in partnership to enable development projects on their land. To achieve this, Paulus called for the eviction of all settlers surrounding Makun Village and Boram Airport.

Women from Makun Village also voiced their concerns, sharing experiences of hardship and harassment that have made it difficult to access basic services.

The landowners and villagers welcomed the government’s support for eviction, pledging full cooperation to ensure development initiatives can proceed without obstruction.
