Flights into Wewak will resume shortly as the temporary closure is now been lifted by the National Airports Corporation.

In a media statement, NAC encouraged airlines passengers to contact their respective airlines for flights confirmation as airlines have been formally advised of this decision.
The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and the PNG Defence Force will continue to provide patrols around the airport and surrounding areas to strengthen security measures and ensuring a smooth resumption of operations.
Police and PNGDF Personnel have conducted swift investigations into the incident and have apprehend suspects.
